Kindergarten?! Ahhhh!

And, here I go, sending another kid off to school! How do they grow up so fast!

Porter was way excited for his first day of kindergarten today. I told him this morning that I would walk with him to school so he could see where to line up. He started complaining that he didn't need his MOM to walk him to school, he'd be just fine walking with Korinne and the others! Colby was finally able to convince him that it was okay for me to walk with them just for the first day.
Porter said "Okay, I guess. But you're NOT holding my hand mom!"
Ahhhh! Why does he have to want to be so big!

"Bye mom!"

Soccer!!

Porter's soccer has started again! We had his first game on Saturday...and he gave it his all, as usual. He's sad that Will isn't on his team again this year, but Sam is, so that works out okay.
Way to go, buddy!

Happy Birthday, Colby!!

Wow...another year older! We celebrated Colby's birthday by finally making it back up to Bear Lake in some somewhat decent weather. It wasn't the warmest day, maybe mid 70's, but we still had a great time! 36 things I love about Colby:

Bye, bye superman...hello Mr. Incredible!

Well, a new superhero has emerged....we no longer get superman to take care of us...we get Mr. Incredible! As long as we've got someone...who knows what we'd be faced with without him?!
He's been wearing this all day, every day, for the past 4 days...this kid cracks me up!

1st day of school....or a political career?

Well, so it starts! Monday was the first day of school. I must admit, I'm glad to be getting back into a routine...although it's always a little sad to see the summer come to an end.

Cute Korinne ready to head off to 3rd grade!!! (wow, the time is flying by!)

So, she came home from school on Monday just bubbling over with excitement and had to tell me all about how much she loves third grade and her teacher, Mrs. Hales (well, everyone loves her!) But then she says:

"Mom, there's one thing I don't like about 3rd grade."

"What's that sweetie?"

"There's no show and tell!"

"Oh, that's too bad. But, they do stop show and tell when you start getting older. I'm sure you'll find other things that you love better."

"Well, I'm going to start a petition!"

(me trying not to laugh) "Really?! Well, good luck. It might not change anything though."

So, sure enough, she gets a piece of paper and writes at the top "Can we please have show and tell in 3rd grade?"

Then, on Tuesday and Wednesday during recesses, she went around to all the third graders and got their signatures, then put her petition on Mrs. Hales desk as she was leaving on Wednesday.

Thursday, she got home and tells me:

"Mom! Mrs. Hales got my petition and guess what? She said we could have show and tell in 3rd grade!"

"Wow sweetie! That's great!"

My daughter....out to change the world!

"Go Home"

Holt loves to watch home movies, especially the ones of himself. He calls them "go home"
Almost every day, he asks me "Mamma, watch go home please?"
Cute.

Summer's last weekend...

Aug. 21-23...
Our summer started off with a bang (Disney World), so we had to end with a bang, just somewhat smaller....Lava Hot Springs with Colby's family. The camping was good, the food was good, we always have lots of fun with the cousins...
Here's Korinne and Reagan cruisin' around the campground...

Holt trying to keep up...
Porter is the ultimate speedster....
Then...there's the swimming...just can't get enough...
Holt loved the slides...
Korinne and Reagan trying to get some room on the water snake...and Braden about to push them off! They finally made it to the front...
Are we swimming in a pool....or just a sea of people?! Porter trying to fight off Braden...Porter loves the slides....but the big slides are even better, the lines are just too long.McKinley...Finley...
Korinne loves the diving boards...As does Reagan...The boys playing basketball....Kennedy had to show them up some...
Sunday morning it rained on us...that's always funThe guys trying to figure out the best way to do the breakfast burritos...which were delicious by the way!Fun weekend...but, I'm always grateful to get home to my shower!
