Ice skating

The kids started ice-skating lessons on Tuesday....and it was quite comical!
Holt cried a little bit at first, but then the instructors gave him a bucket to push around, and he did really good after that.
Korinne, Reagan, McKinley, and Porter all trying to make it across the ice, falling all over each other, of course! But they had a blast!

Go Porter!

Korinne is getting the hang of it!

So much fun! They can't wait for next week. Holt has been asking me every day when do we get to ice skate again!

February Competition

Not the best pictures, but we were sitting pretty far away and this is the best I could get.
Korinne had a beautiful first pass and got pretty high scores (8.7, 8.6, 8.7), so we were pretty excited. Her second pass, she kind of forgot what she was doing. She was supposed to do a whip, 5 backhandsprings, tuck, but she ended up doing a whip and 7 backhandsprings. They looked beautiful, but she lost a lot of points. So, she placed 13th, but she had a great time and grandma Rolli bought her a donut as we were leaving, so it was all good!

Proud of you, as always sweetie! Way to go!

Competition time.

A few pics from Korinne's January competition. She was pretty nervous, but she did pretty good and she had a lot of fun, so I guess that's all that matters. I did my best to capture some good action shots.

First pass....5 backhandsprings, tuck.

Big smile at the end!
I didn't get any good pictures of her second pass, which was whip, 5 backhandsprings, tuck.Awards ceremony.

So proud of you sweetie!

We'll see what February's competition brings! She can't wait!

Porter's birthday celebrations

Porter's birthday week celebration started on Wednesday, which was his birthday. We had to hurry and open presents before school. He was so excited about this new nerf gun from Korinne

And, finally, the drums for guitar hero...can't wait to rock!

Later that night, we all went to Chuck E Cheese's, because, that's where a kid can be a kid!

For his treat, he wanted candles on just ice-cream. So we hurried and sang and he blew out the candles before the wax could ruin his ice-cream.

Saturday, we had a huge Transformer party at our house....14 kids! Yeah, it was pretty chaotic! But they had fun. First, they had to make a box to keep their gold coins in after they finished their "missions".

Then, we played a bunch of different games to earn "gold" for their boxes. They had a blast, although I was going a little crazy trying to keep everything organized.
Next was the best part....presents!

Yay! Porter finally got his own Webkinz!

Then, plenty of cupcakes and ice-cream. After that, I just set them loose until all the parents came to collect them. There is definitely a reason why I only give birthday parties every other year!

Sunday was our family party. Porter just wanted a transformer face on his cake...so, here's the finished product. It was actually pretty easy.

He had to add some transformers to it, of course.
Yay! More presents!

Happy birthday sweet boy! What a fun week!
6 things I love about Porter:
1. His contagious smile
2. The way he shares with his brother
3. He is so sensitive and sweet (most of the time)
4. His drive to succeed.
5. When he gives me hugs and tells me I'm the best mom in the whole world!
6. He's a wonderful example to all of us and always reminds us to pray.My two fearless autobots.

Porter's first ski adventure!

We wanted to take the kids skiing before school started back in after the holidays, so we gathered all our gear and headed up to Wolf Mountain. This would be Porter's first time...he was pretty excited! He went on the conveyor belt a couple of times just to get a good feel for the skiis.
Korinne remembered what she was doing pretty quick and was soon zipping down the mountain.

We found Kennedy, Reagan and McKinley, so that was fun speeding down the mountain with them! Here's Korinne and Reagan.

Porter only fell a couple of times at first, then he just picked right up on it! He was zooming down the mountain in no time! Look at that speed!

We got a little cold at the end, but what a blast! We can't wait to get up in the mountains again...especially Porter! As he put it "That was so totally awesome!"

Great day.

Can you think of any better way to spend the first day of the new year than by staying in your pajamas ALL day and playing games with three sweet kiddos ALL day? I can't. What a fun day! Nowhere we had to be, nothing we had to do except just enjoy being together!

Happy New Year!!

The whole crowd (Colby's family) all came to party in the new year at our house. There was plenty of good food, lots of fun games, plenty of noise....all in all, a great way to welcome in a new decade!
I think the game goes better if Braden has his tongue sticking out. Yep...it's still out there.

Oh look...Chase's too!

Woo-hoo!! Let's make some noise! Happy New Year!
What's this kid still doing up?!

These ones too?!! Happy New Year sweet kids! Thanks for a great 2009!

Here's to a great 2010 to come!
